My husband and I often talk about what our future lifestyle will look like if we ever hit the lottery. One of the things he longs for is to buy a very large piece of land and build a house on it, some where out in the boonies where close neighbors are at least 10 acres away from us.
Every time it comes up I tend to dispute, because I am afraid that it will be unsafe for me to be home alone, way away from the neighbors who would not be able to hear me screaming for help.
I was reading through Psalm 91 this morning and something caught my attention. The last part of verse 4 says, “His truth shall be your shield and buckler.”
God is my protection… my shield that cannot be defeated. The psalmist goes on to say:
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. (Psalm 91:5-7 NKJV)
“You shall not be afraid…” that said it all!
Psalm 56:11 (NKJV) In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Romans 8:31 (NKJV) What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Suddenly, my outlook has changed and I want that beautiful house my husband described, far away from the loud city noises… that house with the big kitchen and plenty of storage… and my She Shed writing studio out in back.
Thank You heavenly Father for this miraculous breakthrough that has broken down the wall of fear that had me trapped. Thank You for renewing my mind that I may be about Your good, acceptable and perfect will. Let it be established, and come to pass for us.
