The Lord Will Provide

This is it!

Several years ago, I was between jobs and trying to make my money stretch till I could acquire gainful employment. While washing dishes my kitchen sink strainer broke. So, I went to the dollar store and purchased a cheap one. It broke too. So, back to the dollar store I went and bought another. It broke! So, I had to pray about it.

Daddy, my money is running short and I cannot afford to keep replacing sink strainers, but I must wash my dishes. Can You please help me?

Later, my mother called and asked me to come by because she had some things to give me. When I walked in the door she immediately launched right into explaining the collection of miscellaneous things she thought I could use. Sitting beside the pile of miscellany was a brand new unopened package containing a sink strainer.

Wow!! I grabbed it and suddenly yelled in a very loud voice, “What is this?” I think it might have startled her because she stammered over her words and managed to say, “Well, I just thought you could use it.”

I began to rejoice in the Lord and finally composed myself enough to tell her the story about the three broken strainers.

Ten years later, we still have that same sink strainer. I even saved the packaging as a memorial. It’s my constant reminder that God’s involved in every area of my life, big and small. How many people have ever gifted me a kitchen sink strainer in my lifetime? Only one, and at the time that I really needed it.

Abraham also experienced God’s miracle provision and gave the Lord the name Jehovah-Jireh.

Genesis 22:14 Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah–jireh: as it is said to this day, in the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

Watch,

stand fast in the faith,

be brave,

Embrace

 I saw this picture,

and thought it was worth

a thousand words.

Kudos to Christian Life Magazine

Jesus prayed: "Father, the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me." John 17:22-23

They will know we are Christians by our love for one another.
