A CONSPIRACY TO DISTRACT

DANGEROUSLY DISTRACTED
Keep Jesus first place and don't let distractions get you off course.

Our church was on an extended consecration and it was very Spirit filled. The glory of God was showing up in every worship service. Somehow though, we got distracted from the consecration and made an about-face and ended up in full on warfare with the enemy. We stopped consecrating ourselves to God and did warfare with the devil.

Conspiracy Against Nehemiah

Nehemiah 6:1-3 (NKJV) Now it happened when Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies heard that I (Nehemiah) had rebuilt the wall, and that there were no breaks left in it (though at that time I had not hung the doors in the gates), that Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, "Come, let us meet together among the villages in the plain of Ono." But they thought to do me harm. So I sent messengers to them, saying, "I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?"

Nehemiah's enemies tried to distract him but he said, "Oh, no!"

Conspiracy Against Adam and Eve

The serpent influenced Eve to believe the lie. God said, "In the day you eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, you shall surely die."  The serpent said, "You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

Eve was distracted from obeying God by the implication that they would be like God, and ate the forbidden fruit. Don't let temptation dominate you or cause you to get off course. Jesus said to abide in Him and you will bear much fruit, and that fruit will remain.

To God be the glory.
