Yes Jesus loves me, for the Bible tells me so. The cross is the ultimate proof of Christ's love. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
If I judge God's love by what He does or does not do for me personally, I might miss the big picture of what He did for mankind globally. For the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
It is easier to believe that God does not love me because He let bad things happen to me, than it is to believe that He loves me inspite of my struggles. Yet it's truth.
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for His friends. Even if you had been the only one that needed His sacrifice, He still would've made it.
